Within the Live Loops feature, encourage learners to explore the FX feature using features such as the filter, repeater, slicer and bit crusher. Ask them to give musical reasons for their decisions.
Encourage learners to use these FX in musical ways – for example, using the repeater FX at the end of a 4 bar phrase to build up excitement transitioning into a different section.
When using the sequencer in GarageBand and/or virtual instruments, ask learners to apply echo and reverb to specific instruments and samples, with consideration given to the overall stereo impact of these effects. Ask them to give musical reasons for their decisions.
