Exploring Partnership Opportunities with Trinity College, Cambridge
Music Mark invites colleagues to join Trinity College, Cambridge in a focus group to discuss opportunities for partnership working, across the UK.
Supporting music progression is an area of priority for Trinity College, Cambridge. They are keen to encourage students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to take up undergraduate music courses. And they are seeking to assist pupils with developing long-lasting skills in music, giving them the benefits of musical education, which aid academic achievement and aspiration. They also want to present Cambridge as an achievable destination to study music for underrepresented students.
Trinity has experience with a number of collaborative and funding-based partnerships with organisations who support university progression and subject enrichment, especially through area-based approaches. The University are hoping to find some common aims with Music Hubs with the intention of working together towards a co-designed partnership.
If you would like to discuss this with us, at the session will be Steven Grahl (Director of Music), Paul Nicholson (Head of the Chapel and Music Office) and Amber Silk (Outreach Coordinator). They will tell you a bit more about the resources they have, and hope to discuss ideas.
Most importantly, we are hoping to hear from you about what support would be most useful and needed across different Music Services and Hub areas, and to hear from those in a position to seek out university partnerships. We hope there will be a discussion about some achievable first steps and ambitious longer-term thoughts, and that we’ll be able keep in touch after our initial meeting.
There is an opportunity to ask questions, in advance at registration, however if you would like to know more about the session, please contact us via email (info@musicmark.org.uk).
