West of England Music & Arts Schools’ Music Conference
Join us for a day of inspiration, learning and creativity to support your classroom delivery. Sponsored by the ABRSM and held at the University of the West of England, the day is open to all music teachers from EYFS through to Secondary (and primary non-music teachers)
West of England Music & Arts Schools’ Music Conference is designed to help you deliver the National Plan for Music Education in your setting. Join our Keynote Speaker HMI Christopher Stevens, Ofsted’s lead for Music as he discusses music in education and reflects on Ofsted’s Subject Report in Music.
Other conference sessions will include workshops, forums, and practical music making, surgeries throughout the day for more specific support, plus trade stands from music industry partners.
Conference sessions include, phonics and singing in early years, how to get musical learning into your classroom easily each week, RAP and how it can boost speaking and listening skills, year 6/7 transition, Dalcroze Eurythmics, music and diversity, autism in the musical classroom and much more.
The conference runs from 1pm through to twilight sessions, with opportunities to network. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, with a buffet at 6.30pm.
