Chief Executive
Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) is seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive to replace Peter Smalley, who is stepping down from the role after 13 years as Chief Executive Officer.
Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) is a music education charity, which provides musical and artistic opportunities for the children and young people of Northamptonshire, with a £5m turnover. As lead partner of the Northamptonshire and Rutland Music Hub, the charity works with almost every school in the two counties. We engage with over 50,000 young people per year, run more than 30 County ensembles – bands, orchestras and choirs – 9 Saturday Centres, and further enrichment, and performance opportunities throughout the year. We employ over 250 staff, including 13 who are permanently based at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre.
“Some of my favourite memories come from NMPAT and the friendships I found there are still some of the most important in my life. For a lot of the young people, it becomes almost a second home. You’ll find yourself spending the majority of your week giggling in the common room, or figuring out a time signature change during sectional rehearsals, to the mocking frustration of your sectional coach.
“The alumni all still feel its impact, making NMPAT not only a brilliant and successful music service, but a community in and of itself. It really is one of a kind and I look forward to seeing it continue to evolve for the talented young people of Northamptonshire.”
