Music and Performing Arts Salford (MAPAS) is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic candidate to take on the leadership of three of our MAPAS Centre evening choirs.

Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic candidate to take on the leadership of three of our MAPAS Centre evening choirs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, well planned and exciting rehearsals. Choosing relevant, challenging and diverse repertoire, developing the skill and musicality of the choir members and preparing the choirs for regular performances across the city and region. Accompaniment experience is not required.
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday and Thursday evenings during term time only.
The three choirs are:
- Singing Squad (age 7-11)
- Youth Choir (age 11-18)
- Community Choir (18+)
There is also opportunity for daytime school choir delivery to be discussed with the successful candidate.
Qualifications
- Relevant choral leading experience and/or Music Degree and Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills and a passion for choirs
- Commitment to reflective and inclusive practices
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver creative, engaging and inclusive rehearsals
- Foster a supportive environment for all participants
- Prepare the groups for performances throughout the year

Successful applicants will be engaged on a self-employed basis and are therefore responsible for their own tax and National Insurance arrangements, hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate and Public liability Insurance and an ability to travel is essential. Ensemble
Leaders will complete a probationary period during the first six months of working with us, after which, pay rates rise to the higher bracket.
