Music Tutor (Multiple roles)

Music Education Islington is looking for a number of motivated tutors to teach in primary schools across Islington. Applicants should have good experience of whole class and individual teaching, including experience of teaching mixed-ability groups and enjoy working with students of all ages.

Music Education Islington is the Music Education Hub for the London Borough of Islington. It is led by Islington Council and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, in partnership with Music in Secondary Schools Trust and leading arts organisations and funders. It is the first Music Education Hub to be led by a local authority working with an internationally renowned conservatoire and receives funding from Arts Council England and Dame Alice Owen Foundation. After-school satellite – Introduction to Music Course

Two different primary schools; Tuesday and Thursday, 3.30-4.30pm (1.5 hours total each day including preparation time)

This course is part of the Music Centre progression and offers children in year 2 and 3 the experience and joy of making music through a range of activities, games and songs. It is based in Kodaly methodology so experience of this is essential.

Contract type: Self-employed

Hourly rate: £39.50

Whole class ukulele

Wednesday afternoons, 2.5 hours including prep time

Primary School Music Teacher

Two full days, 9am-3.30pm with the potential to take an after-school club on one of the days

This school is looking for a curriculum music teacher who can also teach violin and/or flute. The ideal candidate will have qualified teacher status, but tutors with significant whole class experience will also be considered.

This position will be held with the school; interested candidates will be directed to the school for an interview.
