Printed Music Licensing Ltd is commissioning up to 9 teachers, instructors or other members of school or music hub/music service staff to help gather schools’ music usage in cities and towns across the UK as part of our Schools Printed Music Licence trial. You can view a brief explainer video about the Schools Printed Music Licence here. This trial is part of four strands of work to support and promote the licence and its associated campaign Every Copy Counts.

We need people who visit or have connections to multiple schools in their area and can gather the required information from schools, returning data on their behalf to Printed Music Licensing Ltd through our portal. This, in turn, ensures that appropriate royalties are then sent to our publisher members and through them to their associated composers and songwriters.

You should be organised, articulate and self-motivated with the ability to build good relationships with those around you. Applicants will be required to provide right-to-work status. Data Champions will be visiting schools to engage with teachers and will need to provide information related to their PVG or DBS status.

How to Apply

Please email Aileen Douthwaite at hello@everycopycounts.co.uk to express your interest in this commission. Please use “PMLL Data Champions enquiry” in the subject line and attach a personal statement of no more than 2 pages of A4 (font size 12), indicating why this commission excites you, alongside any information you feel would be useful. Please ensure to include the number of schools you engage with and the area and country in which you work.

We encourage early expressions of interest for these commissions and will offer interviews on a rolling basis. We reserve the right to bring forward the closing date or close applications completely before the listed deadline.
