Upper Strings (Violin & Viola) Teacher

£29.12 per contact hour plus teachers’ pension

Are you passionate about music education? Do you have the skill and enthusiasm to inspire students to unlock their musical potential and develop existing musicians? We’re seeking a dedicated and talented Violin/Viola Teacher to join our fantastic team and deliver engaging one-to-one, small-group lessons, Whole Class Instrumental teaching, and to lead string ensembles in schools across Kirklees and Musica Holme Valley.

There are currently 11 hours per week, including a Saturday Morning music centre, plus a significant scope for expansion and development. The current work includes a variety of school settings in the Holme Valley area of Kirklees that you would be required to teach every week (for 33 weeks during term time). In addition to the regular teaching, there will be further opportunities to work on projects with our talented and welcoming string team, recital groups and attend CPDL sessions, and additional time will be allocated for recruitment.

You will require an Enhanced DBS, and you will need to be able to transport yourself between different schools during each working day

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality upper-string lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.
  • Plan effective lessons/rehearsals
  • Inspire students to develop a love for music and a lifelong passion for playing the violin and viola.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in upper-string teaching to students of varying abilities
  • Proficiency in music theory and keyboard skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and adults
  • Flexibility to travel to different schools within Kirklees
