Schoolchildren celebrate Hounslow at summer singing festivals
More than 1,200 primary schoolchildren performed last month as part of Hounslow Music Service’s annual Summer Singing Festivals, which also marked the borough’s 50th anniversary.
From 22-25th June, different groups of schools formed a massed choir every night and were accompanied by a professional stage band to perform arrangements penned by Vivian Frost, who has been teaching Hounslow children for 40 years. The concerts also featured bands and orchestras run by Hounslow Music Service.
Schools that took part were provided with music and resources ahead of the festival to help teach the children the songs. A team of vocal coaches also visited participating schools to support the choirs.
