Whether you’re a new or longstanding Music Mark Member, are you making the most of your member benefits? With such a vast offer including discounted training and events, resources, peer groups, and more, you may be missing out on some amazing aspects of your membership! Here’s a reminder of what’s available to you.

 

Professional Development and Support

Music Mark Events. Webinars and courses exclusive to members. Discounted conferences. Free events for your CPD and moreOur training and events programme covers a wide range of topics to support everyone working in the music education sector. For classroom teachers, upcoming topics include exploring behaviour in the classroom, embedding equity, diversity and inclusion into your teaching practice, Ofsted update sessions, and our termly ‘T-Time’ sessions, which provide a dedicated space for teachers to discuss their work. If you work for a music service or similar organisation, many of our events are designed to support areas of your work, such as our ‘Fundamentals’ series which provides detailed training in areas including Marketing, Finance and Fundraising. We’ve also programmed sessions on data, carbon literacy, mental health, and more. Or perhaps you have a leadership role, for which our popular ‘High Impact Senior Leadership’ course and sessions with The Leadership Collective can help support you in your role.

Many of these events are exclusively for members, or otherwise come with a fantastic discount, if not free! This includes our 2024 Annual Conference on Sustainability in Music Education, which has great discounted prices for our members.

Sitting alongside our training and events programme are our peer groups and mentoring and coaching programmes. Our member-only peer groups provide you a space to join colleagues with similar roles across the UK for peer-to-peer learning and collaborative problem-solved, facilitated by a member of the Music Mark team. Music Mark Support. Fully subsidised mentoring & coaching. Access offers from our advice partners. A bank of webinars on financial & legal topics.Our mentoring and coaching programmes are available free of charge, and again are exclusively for members! You can benefit from four one-hour sessions with one of our mentors for free, to help you to learn and support you in identifying what skills and learning are needed to reach your goals, and how you might achieve them. You can also work with one of our coaches for free across four one-hour sessions. Coaches can help you to develop your skills, offering new approaches to problem-solving and enabling you to establish your own solutions to problems through tools and techniques. Member Offers

Did you know we have a variety of offers and discounts exclusively for our members? These include offers from our advice partners – Get Grants, Bates Wells, Croner, and Child Protection Company – who can help you and your business with a variety of matters, and discounted access to our National BOPA, MusEd Safe, which we run in partnership with Brass Bands England.

We also have a range of offers from our Industry Partners, offering discounted (and sometimes free!) access to their services, events and products. These change regularly, so make sure to explore what’s currently available.

As well as our public resource library, members have access to a wide variety of private resources. These can include time-sensitive guidance off the back of changes and news in the music education sector, as well as webinars, archived event recordings, and other resources to help support your work. Discounted Job Listings

Our Job advertisements are incredibly popular, with 560 visits to our Jobs page every day in 2023, and over 4,000 people subscribed to our Jobs Bulletin. Music Mark Members can advertise a vacancy for a discounted price of £100 +VAT, a 60% discount off our full price of £250 +VAT! We also include all new listings in our weekly Jobs Bulletin and share them on social media, meaning you can take advantage of our reach across all channels.

This year, we also introduced free job postings for voluntary roles for our members, such as a Trustee, again saving against the non-member price of £50 +VAT. Find out how to advertise your job vacancies here.

 

Get your voice heard

We regularly consult with our membership on topics and challenges in the music education sector, which feeds directly into our advocacy work. Our ‘Big Meets’ bring the membership together to discuss particular topics to ensure your voices are heard. We regularly meet with representatives from the Department for Education, Arts Council England as well as a wide range of organisations working across and beyond the music education sector, and your thoughts and opinions are central to our work.
