Online Teaching Support for Music Hubs and Services
17th March 2020
In the light of coronavirus (COVID-19) a number of music services and hubs have asked for advice and support with online teaching. Musictutors.co.uk have responded very quickly to the crisis. They are an online platform for music education with an online classroom designed specifically for music learning. They have designed a system where a music service / hub can have administrator access and manage the online tuition of teaching teams.
The system has been tested by Inspiring Music in Central Bedfordshire, a local authority music service. They are using the platform to provide online lessons which will be going live very soon to ensure that students can continue to access high quality music tuition by their usual, trusted tutor. Not only will this enable them to continue their musical journeys, develop their skills and musical ability not to mention their wellbeing and to also develop their own independent learning between lessons; but will also give students a set weekly activity to work towards, practise and perhaps even help towards avoiding going stir crazy if schools close! Charlotte Payne, Music Director for Inspiring Music said:
We are extremely conscious that our tutors want and need to keep working and this is an excellent opportunity for us to rapidly develop our virtual footprint providing teaching and learning options for our students and tutors.
CEO of Music Tutors Alex Wibrew has 13 years’ experience in music services and is keen to do all he can to support the sector. The service is being offered at cost to all music hubs and their partners.
