UK Riots and the Importance of Diverse and Inclusive Education Practices

Music Mark is appalled by the events of the past week, with mindless violence, racism and Islamophobia evident in our towns and cities; carried out by people who do not represent a 21st century, multi-cultural Britain. 

As communities across the country build back from these events, we should remember the role that education has in shaping the future generations. The importance of inclusive, equitable and diverse education practices has never been clearer, and we would like to take this opportunity to re-affirm our commitment to these values.  

We will continue to support our membership and the wider music education sector who share the same commitment to the values of inclusion, equity and diversity. If there is anything that you think we should be doing to support you in the coming weeks and months, please let us know.
