An introduction to AYM’s Identifying Musical Talent and Potential (ITP) training.
Awards for Young Musicians (AYM) acclaimed training exists to make music education fairer. Identifying Musical Talent and Potential (ITP) tackles one of the biggest obstacles to young people’s musical progress - identifying those with talent and potential, especially in whole class or larger group settings.
In September 2023, Music Mark facilitated an introductory session on the course, which you can watch below (with interactive elements of the session omitted to preserve participant privacy).
The taster session introduced the key themes of AYM’s ITP training including the 8 Facets of Musical Potential and working inclusively with large groups. Supported by exemplar film clips, practical activities and resources, attendees will come away with some tools to help them identify potential in a greater diversity of young people.
