The Lancashire Accessible Instrument and Technology Library
Added to website 20/11/2024.
The aim of the library is for every young person to have an instrument that meets their interests, abilities and needs, and for teachers to be able to use it effectively in both curriculum and instrumental teaching contexts.
As part of the wider Lancashire Music Service music technology strategy, an accessible instrument and music technology library has been created – the first of its kind. The specialist instruments currently offered in the Library were chosen to allow maximum engagement with pupils of all abilities, individually and in groups, and for use by non-verbal students and those with limited movement.
Teaching templates and videos for each of the resources are freely available on the Lancashire Music Hub website, allowing Specialist Schools to try out cutting-edge resources before completing any purchases, with plans to roll them out to mainstream schools. The award winning resources can also be found in the SEND tab of Charanga’s Musical School.
