The Music Mark Awards 2023
Find out about the categories and how you can nominate a winner for the first ever Music Mark Awards.
Helping to celebrate Music Mark’s 10th birthday and shine a spotlight on the innovative and exciting work being delivered by our members across the UK, the awards will take place during the Music Mark Annual Conference on 27 November 2023.
Nominations are now closed.
Awards Categories
Entries are open across four award categories and will recognise youth-led projects, innovative work, trailblazing developments in inclusion and diversity, and the unsung people and organisations in music education. Find out more about each of the categories below:
Talk into Action Award – sponsored by ABRSM
Linking in with Music Mark’s Talk into Action campaign, we want to celebrate the work of members that is meaningful and innovative in widening access to music education, improving inclusivity and ensuring our young people and communities are well represented in music-making.
Youth Initiative of the Year
Celebrating youth-led projects, this award seeks to highlight the work of children and young people in making great music initiatives happen. There are no parameters on what projects should be, other than they be led by youth voices.
Dynamism Award – sponsored by Melded
Tying in with our Conference theme, the dynamism award will celebrate the most innovative work happening across the UK music education sector. Projects can be large or small, and don’t have to follow a particular theme, but should highlight new thinking and ‘making things happen’.
Unsung Hero in Music Education – sponsored by MusicFirst
So much great work across the UK from organisations and individuals goes under the radar, and we want to highlight this work, not only to celebrate achievements, but to share ideas and inspire others with what is happening around the country.

Who can nominate and be nominated for an award?
Aiming to showcase the diverse and meaningful work happening by Music Mark members across the country, all members (including Music Mark Schools and Industry Partners) are encouraged to nominate projects and organisations from fellow members that have pushed the boundaries of what people expect from music education. To check if you are a member, you can visit the Member Directory or get in touch.
You can choose to nominate yourself or your organisation’s own work, but we do ask that you then also nominate another Music Mark member (individual or organisation) too. Our conference awards are a chance for members to learn about and be inspired by each other’s work across the sector!
